Baby Harper has finally decided to arrive! September 12th 2013

Day before delivery......walking the mall to get things goings.....

Sept. 12th 9:45am all checked in at the hospital.  In early labor, contractions still 10-15 mins apart.  Dialated to a 5 and feeling great!  (Beware: Labor talk below about to get REAL) ;)

Harper Ivy Kate Brooks
7'1" 20 inches
4:01pm 9-12-13
(we literally decided on her name 2 days before she was born.....thats what happens when you have 3 girls and run out of girl names ;)

My Doc came in and broke my water around 1pm and I was expecting my contractions to get really bad fast, but they didnt.  My contractions were just regular old ones that just got closer together (5 mins) then around 3 I had one really bad one and then one right after another.  I used the tub, and birthing ball but all I wanted to do was close my eyes and lay on my side in the bed gripping the railing.  The only thing that helped ease the discomfort was having Steve roll a cold pop can down my lower back. THANKS KIERSTIN!!! That was the best!!  They got more intense and closer together and I thought I was going to have a heart attack !  The nurse checked me and was at an 8 around 330 so they called the doc and he got there at 345 and I was full dialated and ready to push.  I only had to push one time,  thankgoodness!  I dont think I could have lasted much longer.  It was crazy that she came that fast, something Steve and I were both totally shocked by because Ive always taken about an hour to push with the last 4.  She also was a lot smaller than the ultrasound the day before predicted she would be ( 8'8").

The kids watched through the window as Harper had her first bath.

So glad Mom was able to come help out with the kids!  They all love when Grandma comes.
