Birth Story: ( sorry its a little detailed so guys dont read ;)!! )
We went into the hospital at 3 am Tuesday morning, which the day before I had gone to a doc appt, where they striped the membranes and told me I was at a 3. Whenever I go into labor its always been the same, I wake up around 2am and have a hard contraction followed by another, but usually spaced out between 7-10 mins. I always have to time to take a shower and time them for a couple hours to see if they continue and progress. Well I kinda jumped the gun this time and we headed in right away. When we got there I was a 3 so they had me walk for an hour, which Ive never had to do because Ive usually been at 5 and in "active labor" but since I wasnt this time..we got to WALK... not fun! After that they checked me and I was a 4 and they called my doc who said "he wasnt convinced I was in active laborm," well he was only on call for the next 2 hours so Im sure he didnt want to get up..lol! At this point I was already going to ask for an epidural which originally I was really going to try to avoid to save money...stupid idea I know..totally worth the money right!????? Well they wanted keep me on the monitors because the baby wasn't as perky as they wanted her to be, so they decided to keep me for 2 hours and then see what happened. The worse way to labor in laying in the bes not being able to walk around (in my opinion). Well the nice other guy doc who was coming on call ..came in and admitted me and said lets have this baby today! So I was ordered the epidural and I was soo releaved when it came..MAN they feel great! They are the best thing in the world! The doc didnt break my water right away because he had to be insurgery so I had to wait. My contractions spread out which usally happens when I have an epidural and my water isnt broken right away so in the meantime they gave me some patosin (spelling??) and then when we was available he came in and broke my water. Well I had started feeling the pressure and it was getting worse, one right after the other so 2o mins. later they checked and I was at a 10 and ready to push...and it was too late to get the epidural fixed so basically I could feel everything without the edge, maybe. I had to push for about 45 mins. and was so happy to get her out!! She was happy and healthy and I was relieved to be done! It was defintley a different birth story than usual, but with the same great ending with a Healthy baby! So just wanted to thank everyone for your thoughts and congrats....our family and friends are always an amazing support to us and we love you guys!
